There are an increasing number of researchers who wish to use multiple fluorochromes in their work. The current state-of-the-art in cameras is high resolution monochrome (black & white) detectors. This means that the acquired images must be saved sequentially, pseudo colored, and then overlain in a software package to test for co-localization. The images of the field of interest (from each individual set of filters) must be projected to ‘exactly’ the same position on the camera detector or the images will not align in the x/y dimension.
