Chroma’s ratiometric filter sets are intended for use with probes which exhibit multiple absorption or emission maxima, usually as a result of a change in the local microenvironment, such as pH, presence/absence of specific ions, or membrane potential. Some common ratiometric probes are Fura2, Indo-1, BCECF, di-8-ANEPPS and JC-1. These sets require either external filter wheels or sliders which can hold the two excitation or two emission filters, depending on the filter set.
