Sputtered ‘ET’ emission filters are recommended for all laser applications. The essential property of an emission filter in any laser application is adequate attenuation of the laser line(s). Whether a single band, multi-band or longpass emission filter, its most important property is sufficient blocking of the laser line(s) being used.
Chroma's multiband laser emission filters provide for the widest passbands for fluorescence transmission, with relatively narrow "blocking" bands, corresponding to the intended laser wavelengths. These particular emission filters are of limited use in non-laser applications due to their narrow attenuation ranges. For single-band emission filters in laser applications, use any of our catalog ET emission filters which provide sufficient attenuation of the laser line.
Chroma’s ET emission filters provide the steepest transition between transmission of fluorescence signal and blocking of laser illumination. These filters will provide the best performance in laser applications, allowing a worker to detect fluorescence wavelengths as close as possible to the laser wavelength.
