Total Internal Reflection Microscopy (TIRF)

Total Internal Reflection Microscopy (TIRF) enables imaging within a few hundred nanometers of the coverslip and is ideally suited for a range of imaging applications. Related to TIRF, HiLo, or oblique illumination is a technique used to illuminate a wider region and often used in 3D Super-resolution applications such as 3D-STORM. 89 North and Cairn research offers excellent solutions for TIRF that enables the use of both single-mode lasers as well as high-power, low-cost multimode lasers (see this article describing TIRF with multi-mode fibers).
