LRGB Filters
Chroma LRGB filters are broadband astronomy filters designed to support true-color imaging workflows with monochrome cameras. Engineered with hard-sputtered coatings and precise band placement, these filters deliver high transmission and strong out-of-band blocking to help you capture rich, vibrant images of galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, and other celestial objects.
Our Flagship LRBG Filter Set
Optimized for true-color astrophotography, our LRGB filter sets provide coordinated passbands and high transmission for consistent color balance and image fidelity. Our LRGB filter sets include four broadband filters consisting of luminance (L), red (R), green (G), and blue (B).
LRGB + H-alpha Filter Sets
For broadband color imaging with enhanced nebular detail, Chroma offers LRGB + H-alpha filter sets that pair our standard LRGB filters with a dedicated H-alpha narrowband filter. These sets are available with 3 nm, 5 nm, or 8 nm H-alpha filters, allowing you to choose the level of contrast and background suppression that best fits your imaging conditions.
Ha3LRGB
Standard LRGB filters paired with a 3 nm H-alpha filter for maximum contrast and background suppression in nebular imaging.
Ha5LRGB
Standard LRGB filters paired with a 5 nm H-alpha filter, balancing strong contrast with increased signal throughput.
HaLRGB
Standard LRGB filters paired with an 8 nm H-alpha filter for higher throughput and flexible imaging conditions.
Individual LRGB Filters
Chroma offers individual broadband filters so you can customize or expand your imaging setup based on your telescope, camera, and imaging goals.
Luminance (L) Filters
Capture the full visible spectrum with high transmission, providing the foundation for detailed grayscale image data in LRGB workflows.
Red (R) Filters
Isolate the red portion of the spectrum with steep cutoffs to help reconstruct accurate color and structure in your images.
Green (G) Filters
Define the mid-spectrum green band with excellent separation from red and blue, aiding natural color balance.
Blue (B) Filters
Capture the blue end of the visible spectrum with minimal overlap, helping bring out fine detail and color accuracy.
Custom & OEM Astronomy Filters
Chroma works with observatories, researchers, and instrument manufacturers to develop custom astronomy filters and specialized passbands. Options include non-standard sizes, unique spectral profiles, and coatings optimized for long-term stability.
Built for Long-Term Performance
Astronomy filters must maintain spectral accuracy across temperature changes, humidity, and years of use. Chroma’s hard-sputtered coatings are engineered for durability and stability, helping ensure consistent performance for long-term imaging projects and scientific studies.
As an ISO-certified manufacturer, we adhere to strict quality assurance procedures and stand behind this commitment with an industry-leading warranty—our assurance of long-term stability and performance.
